Man in Nihang robes shot at near Patiala | Chandigarh News



Patiala: A man dressed as a Nihang was on Sunday shot in the chin during a suspected personal dispute at Jhill village in this ditrict. Police said the incident had unfolded around 6.15 pm.The target was Bhupinder Singh, while police identified the alleged shooter as Yash Bhola of Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar in Jhill, who fled the scene. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sartaj Singh Chahal confirmed Bhola’s identification and said an arrest was expected soon. “Initial investigations point toward a personal dispute as the possible motive behind the attack,” Chahal said.Bhupinder Singh was moved to Govt Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for treatment. Deputy superintendent of police Jangjit Singh said the victim was stable and out of danger. He noted that accused Bhola had prior cases registered against him. Tripuri police station registered a case, and teams were deployed to trace and arrest the suspect. The investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of the firing.
