Teenager stabbed to death in Chandigarh’s Maloya, 2 minors held | Chandigarh News
Chandigarh: An 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death in Maloya on Tuesday night. Maloya police arrested two minor boys during the investigation and recovered the knife used in the attack. Both minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to a juvenile home. Police added that other co-accused have been identified and will be arrested soon.The victim was identified as Mohit, a resident of Maloya.Police said they received information from the PGI police post around 9pm that Mohit had been admitted with stab wounds. A team from the Maloya police station reached PGI, where they met Sandeep, the victim’s brother.In his statement, Sandeep said Mohit had been receiving death threats from one of the arrested boys for the past few days. On Jan 20, Mohit was standing with his cousin when the two minors and their friends arrived and allegedly began abusing him. When Mohit objected, one of the boys allegedly stabbed him in the back before fleeing. He was taken to PGI in a private car, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
