Two IAS officers suspended in Punjab | Chandigarh News
Chandigarh: Punjab govt on Saturday suspended two IAS officers — Kamal Kishor Yadav, administrative secretary of department of industries and commerce, and Jaspreet Singh, MD of Punjab Information and Communication Technology Corporation Limited (Punjab INFOTECH).Though no reason has been specified in the orders, sources said action relates to a delay in procuring smartphones for Anganwadi workers.
On Saturday, separate orders issued by the chief secretary mentioned that action has been taken against the two officers under Rule 3(1) of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, which empowers central or state govts to suspend an IAS officer if disciplinary proceedings are contemplated or pending against him.The two officers will be attached to the state headquarters in Chandigarh and given only subsistence allowance during their period of suspension. While Kamal Kishor Yadav is a 2003 batch officer, Jaspreet Singh is from the 2014 batch.It is learnt that two more IAS officers have been transferred in the matter.
