Jind: A bus overturned after hitting a divider near Baroda village in Uchana Kalan town of Jind district. More than 50 passengers were on board at the time of the accident. Around 5-6 people, including the driver, sustained serious injuries, sources said.The injured were shifted to the Jind civil hospital.The bus was travelling from Uchana to Jind. As it reached near Baroda village, the bus collided with a divider. Due to the impact, the driver lost control and the bus rammed into a loading vehicle parked on the roadside. The loading vehicle was badly damaged and broke into several parts, eyewitnesses said.Bus driver Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Thua village in Jind district, has reportedly fractured both legs. He was referred to PGIMS Rohtak, where his condition remains serious.A woman passenger, Praveen from Dumarkhan village, said the bus was moving at a very high speed and the driver was busy on a video call on his phone. She said the driver of the loading vehicle had parked his vehicle on the roadside and went to relieve himself. Due to distraction and loss of control, the bus first hit the divider and then rammed into the parked loading vehicle, she added.Loading vehicle driver Pankaj, a resident of Uchana, said he was on his way to Jind to get some work done and had stopped on the way to relieve himself. Suddenly, a speeding bus coming from behind hit his vehicle. Since he was outside the vehicle at that time, he narrowly escaped. He added that several bus passengers suffered serious injuries, while many others sustained minor injuries. After the collision, he immediately called the 112 emergency helpline, following which the police quickly reached the spot.Traffic police incharge Shamsher Singh said as soon as the police received information about the accident, they immediately rushed to the spotand all injured were shifted to hospitals in Uchana and Jind for treatment. He confirmed that the bus was running at an high speed and around 5-6 people, including the driver, had suffered serious injuries in the accident.
