Rain brings down temperature in HP

Shimla: Light to moderate rain at isolated places across Himachal Pradesh brought a noticeable drop in temperatures, keeping the mercury below normal in several parts of the state on Monday.According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, the average maximum temperature in the state remained 4℃ below normal.Una and Neri recorded the highest maximum temperatures in the state, each recording 35.4℃. Bilaspur recorded a maximum of 34℃ — 2.3℃ below normal, while Kangra registered a maximum of 33℃ — 6.6℃ below normal. Keylong recorded a day temperature of 11.2℃ — 10.8℃ below normal.Among the tourist destinations, Shimla recorded a maximum of 22.8℃, Dharamshala 31℃, and Manali 26℃.Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 6.2℃ on Monday.According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures are likely to fall further by 2 or 3℃ across several parts of the state during the next 24 hours, with no significant change expected over the following three or four days.The weather department further predicted light to moderate rain in the low and mid hills and light snow at a few places in the upper reaches between June 22 and 26.
