Chd MC’s parking revenue rises after ‘one pass’ rollout | Chandigarh News

Chandigarh: Ever since the MC, in collaboration with a private bank, launched the “one pass” facility for paid parking lots on Jan 27, there has been an uptick in its revenue both through online and offline mode.According to MC records, the civic body earned Rs 22 lakh in Feb by issuing the one pass through online mode. In March, the figure rose to Rs 29 lakh. In April, the civic body expects Rs 32 lakh revenue.Both the corporation and the private bank it is partnering with are maintaining daily data and record of the passes issued and revenue collected. Senior officials review the data on a regular basis.Financial records of the MC revealed that overall revenue from the paid parking increased in Feb and March as compared to the corresponding period last year. In Feb 2025, the MC earned around Rs 1.04 crore from paid parking. During the same period in 2026, the authority earned around Rs 1.15 crore through paid parking fee. In March 2025, the corporation earned Rs 1.18 crore through paid parking, while in March 2026, it earned Rs 1.35 crore from paid parking fee.Box: Over 13,000 takers for one pass After its launch on Jan 27, more than 13,000 persons have opted for one pass till date. MC officials have urged market and resident welfare associations to pitch one pass among people.
